Stories, cities, and the art of showing up

Residencies have always been at the heart of what we do. They are where we slow down, tune in, and build real relationships, not only with our own community, but with the local worlds we step into. We don’t run them on a strict calendar. We run them when the calling feels right. When a place opens its doors. When we sense that something special wants to happen there.

Our first call came from Da Nang.
The second, from our home turf in Berlin.
And now, we’re answering the third: Cape Town, we are coming.

Da Nang: One Month of Creative Flow

The residency began in February 2025 on the shores of Da Nang, Vietnam a month filled with murals, movement, storytelling, workshops, and collaboration. Ten artists from around the world met for the first time and immediately got down to work into co-creation with local partners, cafés, conservation groups, and community spaces.

Walls got painted. Books got drafted. Workshops popped up all over the city.

Berlin: Spätis, Stories & City Magic

The second edition brought us back to Berlin, where 15 artists spent four weeks creating alongside one of the city’s most iconic institutions: the späti. Together with shop owners, neighbors, musicians, dancers, and passersby, the residency unfolded into a three-day Späti Art Walk across seven cornershops.

It was messy, joyful, loud, tender, and very Berlin. A reminder that art can live anywhere, especially where people gather.

At its heart was a simple intention: to support small local businesses by pairing them with artists, bringing new foot traffic, visibility, and energy.

Next Stop: Cape Town

And now we are preparing for residency number three. Cape Town has been on our minds and in our inboxes for months: a city buzzing with creativity and community energy. We are heading there next to listen, learn and create.

Each residency teaches us something new about collaboration, vulnerability, and place. They remind us that creativity isn’t a solitary act it’s a shared one. And we cannot wait to keep building these bridges, one city at a time.

Cape Town, we’ll see you soon.
